Week beginning Sunday 26th April
What do you find surprising in this story?
Why do you think Daniel kept on praying even though it was illegal?
(Families with older children might like to chat about the persecuted church)
Daniel was a slave in a foreign land, but he worked very hard. He obeyed the King in everything that wasn't against God's law. He knew that God wanted him to keep talking to him and he knew that it was important.
What do you think you would have done if you were Daniel?
Do you find it easy to pray or difficult? Why do you think that is?
Do you think Daniel prayed in the Lion's den?
Read the Bible passage and find out what the King was doing all night...
Isn't it amazing that God protected Daniel?
What happened to the King after Daniel was released unharmed?
Sometimes God can use our difficult situations to show himself or his love to other people.
We aren't in an actual Lion's den, but we can be dealing with tricky things. Daniel's response was to pray and that should be our response too. As a family chat about what 'Lions' (difficult situations) you are facing and pray together.
